FEES
My fee is discounted to $90 because I use our home as my office. The second session is free. After that, all sessions are $90. (A session is 50 minutes, but I cannot remember the last time my clients and I did not spend 60 minutes. The 50-minute hour is the standard time for counseling sessions.) The normal fee for my level of training and experience is $120, so this is 25% off.
I am a Medicare provider, so Medicare will help with the cost if you qualify with a mental health diagnosis.
Many other insurances will help. My policy is that insurance reimburse you, not pay me. (You get reimbursed much faster than I get paid.) My billing specialist will bill your insurance for you. If, as sometimes happens, your insurance company pays me, I send you a check immediately.
Check this out before you make an appointment -- call your insurance and ask if they will cover an "out-of-network
provider who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker". Most insurances only pay for mental health diagnoses, not for
marriage counseling.
I can accept Medicare. Unfortunately, Medicare is a bit particular and does not cover many counselors and
therapists. But, they do cover Licensed Clinical Social Wrokers.
Unfortunately, because I use my home as my office and it is not handicapped accessible, TriCare will not cover my
services. However, as a secondary insurance to Medicare, TriCare will pay.
Unfortunately, I usually have as many pro-bono and reduced-fee clients as I can afford to help. For this I am sad, as I wish I had the wherewithal to be available to everyone.
